EBA POLICY DIALOGUE with EU COMMISSION in BRUSSELS
On 3-7 June EBA Moldova, represented by Mariana Rufa, EBA CEO, participated in the annual EBO WORLDWIDE NETWORK meeting in Brussels. The meeting agenda focused on key EU priorities for the coming period.
Meetings were held with senior officials from the cabinets of Ursula Von Der Leyen, Valdis Dombovskis, Commissioner Thierry Breton and Commissioner Jutta Urpilainen. Meetings dedicated to the EBA regional network were also organised, where EBA Moldova met with Dirk Schuebel EEAS, Marco Duerkop DG TRADE, Diana Jablonska DG NEAR and the team responsible for Moldova.
Presentations were given by representatives from DG INTPA, DG GROW, DG CONNECT, DG TAXUD, Business Europe on EU policy priorities for the coming period:
- Security
- Aid to Ukraine
- Economic and value chain sustainability
- Green Deal and support for business development, including how CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) will be implemented in practice
- Digitisation and cyber security
- EU enlargement - in this regard - integrating MOLDOVA and UKRAINE, reiterating the prerogative to implement the reform package.
A key priority, however, in all discussions was to support and develop business in the EU, in third markets, to develop the economy.
During the dedicated sessions, Mariana Rufa presented the priorities for business in Moldova, which are primarily related to security, including cyber security; facilitating border traffic, facilitating international trade, as well as some achievements of reforms for business and the framework for EBA's collaboration with the political leadership.
