EBA Moldova co-participated in the organization of the International Conference „Making the most of DCFTA” that took place on 22nd and 23rd of October 2015 within the framework of the Visegrad Fund Project „Sharing Experience of Public-Private Dialogue in EU Integration Process for Moldova and Georgia”.
The conference aimed at bringing together the main stakeholders involved in the implementation of the DCFTA provisions in Moldova in order to come up with an overview on the current stage of the implementation phase. The main areas covered during the panels of discussion referred to the access to the European markets, in particular the external assistance for SMEs to meet the requirements of DCFTA and access the EU markets, and also to building public-private partnerships and providing support services. Several EBA members participated in the panels and delivered presentations: Danube Logistics, Monicol, SunPrint and Zernoff. Equally, EBA Executive Director, Mariana Rufa talked about the role and the actions that EBA engaged with in order to enhance the public-private partnership in Moldova and facilitate the access to external markets for companies in Moldova.
A separate session during the conference has been dedicated to the next steps of the European Commission’s new trade strategy, where the EBA members had the opportunity to meet with and address specific issues to the EU Trade Commissioner, Cecilia Malmstrom.
