EBA Moldova participates at the EBO Worldwide Network Global Meeting

EBA Moldova participated at the annual reunion of the EBA Worldwide network taking place in the period of November 26-28 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The meeting was organized by EU Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the support of the Unit for International Affairs of DG Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission.

The discussions were mainly aimed at:

  • identifying the status quo of each EBO's member;
  • providing an exchange of opinions on improving the EBA's network and its further development;
  • presenting the overall picture of the EU Trade Status and the last evolutions in relation to the ASEAN Region.

A special focus was made on the important role that the Business organisations will have to play in enhancing the relationships between the EU Commission services and EBOs for a more efficient implementation of EU policies and actions under the country national agenda.

The EBOs had also the opportunity to participate in  "ASEAN Economic Community 2015", an event organised by the  EU Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The speakers reiterated the challenges and opportunities for the EU SMEs in the ASEAN region in the service sector. On the same day EBO Worldwide Network signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Business Europe.

The Global reunion of EBOs gathered representatives of Business Europe, Mr. Pascal Kerneis - Managing Director, DG Enterprise and Industry, Mrs Bettina Furche as well as representatives of the EBO Worldwide Network representing the following countries:

  10. Mr. Dimitar Ristovski (The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia),
