The Law on personal data protection promoted with the joint effort and contribution of the EBA Community was adopted by the Moldovan Parliament and published in the Official Monitor of the Republic of Moldova no. 367-369 art. 574 of 23.08.2024, with entry into force starting with 23.08.2026.
As of 2018, following several rounds of public debates, including on the platform of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Public Order, on the platform of the Working Group under the aegis of the Ministry of Justice, and the presentation of several position papers of the EBA community, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data was transposed.
