On 24 March 2016, EBA Members met the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Mr. Octavian Calmâc. On this occasion, the Minister delivered a thorough presentation about the most important reforms oriented at sustaining the business environment, speaking of completed actions and the priorities the Government/Ministry of Economy envisions, including those measures where EBA, as a committed partner could involve through its input in the existing B2G platforms.
EBA Members, on their part, engaged in a very dynamic discussion with the Minister pointing out at the issues that currently affect them and shared their views on possible solutions and business climate improvements. The topics focused on the variety of constraints to doing business in Moldova, such as:
- Improve the regulatory process on business regulation
- Better access to financing
- Streamline the number of state inspections and of control bodies, and effective opperation of the State Register of Inspections
- Reforming of the state certification bodies, in particular ANSA
- Predictable tax regulation, in particular by local public autorities
- Current relation with international donors – EU and IMF.
