On 25th of October 2017, EBA Moldova jointly with Amcham Moldova organized a Business Breakfast with Mr. Andrian Candu, President of the Parliament of Moldova. The event started with opening speeches from Mr. Thomas Moser, EBA President and Ms. Veronica Malcoci, AmCham President. Mr. Andrian Candu appreciated the constant dialogue between the business community and the Parliament, inviting the participants to be active and to ask questions, as this would help in identifying the solutions for developing a better business environment in Moldova.
The dialogue was focused on the current issues of the business sector and also on the priorities of the Parliament, such as: developments in the legislative framework that governs the business environment in the area of state controls, control procedures and simplifying the regulatory framework on permissive acts; amendments in the Labor Code in order to make the employee – employer relation more flexible; liberalization of the private medical services; new Law on the activities of the banks. In the context of the Pollution Tax Law, it was mentioned about the necessity of identifying the best solution taking account of the EU legislation. The priority in the energy sector is the completion of the Chisinau gas line at the end of 2018, interlinking the electricity grid with the European market and finalization of the approval procedure of the Renewable Energy Law.
Furthermore, the representatives of the business sector highlighted several aspects regarding the Law on wastes, draft Law on the normative acts, the parliamentary control concerning the implementation of the RM-EU Association Agreement, regulation of wastes incineration operations, draft Law on food information to consumers, new regulations of the legislation on mass-media, audiovisual and advertising, etc.
