On October 11, 2019 an informative session on simplified customs procedures was organized by the Economic Council to the Prime Minister. The event was moderated by Mrs. Mariana Rufa, CEO EBA Moldova as the chair of the Economic Council working group on “Facilitation of cross-border trade”. The aim of the session was to inform the business environment involved in the international trade of goods about tools to facilitate cross-border trade, which allow the reduction of costs and time required for customs clearance, increase security in cross-border traffic, as well as periodic declaration of goods exported by economic agents through postal shipments, as well as the last legislative amendments in the field of determining the customs value of the goods and the advantages of the Approved Exporter status.
Moreover the private sector had the opportunity to raise questions and discuss their main deficiencies related to customs procedures. Following the informative session additional bilateral meetings were organized between the private sector representatives and Customs Service officials.
