The President and Vice-President of EBA Moldova were unanimously elected by the General Assembly of the European Business Association Moldova, held on December 3.
Carolina Bugaian, General Manager of Moldcell, was confirmed as President of EBA, and Veronica Malcoci, General Manager of GRAWE Carat Asigurări, was elected Vice President of EBA.
The event was opened by Ms. Carolina Bugaian, who reiterated that the European integration of the Republic of Moldova remains the main goal and objective of the EBA community through involvement in the policy-making process and concrete support in their implementation. She also praised the Association's important achievements, mentioning, among other things, the publication of 46 position papers and the organization of 47 practical workshops.
She also emphasized the role of the EBA as a true hub of support for the development and implementation of public policies, involving the best local and international expertise.
In turn, Ms. Veronica Malcoci highlighted the EBA's substantial contribution to promoting the country's European path by supporting regional companies. In this regard, the EBA organized 17 regional events in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, IDA, the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova, the e-Government Agency, and the State Tax Service.
Mariana Rufa, CEO of EBA, and Eugen Cozmulici, Policy & Advocacy Manager, also presented in detail the Association's achievements in policy development and how EBA supports their implementation. They reiterated the support that the Association offers both the business community and the authorities in the processes of legislative harmonization and reform implementation. The presentation mentioned the progress made in areas such as taxation, food safety, labor relations, the energy sector and renewable sources, waste management and others.
